Who We Are
Our Ethos
Creating a childcare environment which celebrates diversity is an important part of a childcare. Everyone is different, and each individual brings a host of different skills. Building children’s positive self-esteem and giving them the confidence to reach out to new learning experiences.
Being pro-active about the care we provide means Team Rookies understands that child protection is a fundamental part our role as childcare providers. Equipping ourselves with the knowledge and skills to maintain a high level of childcare and viewing a child-centred high quality approach to children’s well-being.
Team Rookies work hard in promoting equality and diversity into your everyday practice. We treat each child on an individual basis and with equal concern and give each child equal chances to learn and develop. Considering each child’s age and stage of development, gender, ethnicity, home language and any disability. We encourage children to develop a sense of their own identity and culture.
Team Rookies roles and responsibilities are to: support children to develop an awareness of their own personal safety and try to make sure that activities always take into consideration the needs of all the children.
We are registered with both Care Inspectorate and Fife Council.

COVID-19 Safety Measures
How we’re keeping everyone safe
By checking temperatures (children & staff)
By staying in our bubbles & not mixing
By enhancing our cleaning schedule
By asking you to keep your 2m distance whilst you wait
By asking you to bring only one adult if you can
By asking you to bring only essential items to Rookies
Reducing footfall into the building by asking parents to drop their children at the door
By having everyone wash hands regularly
Daycare
Little Rookies Daycare is open Monday to Friday from 7.45am – 5.45pm. Providing Pre-school Places, Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club to all children in Fife from ages 2-12yrs. We also take childcare vouchers. There are spaces available for 2-5 years funded and non-funded places with flexibility hours.
Play is the foundation of every child’s development. Children are born with a natural curiosity and an instinct to play and therefore they encourage their own development. Given the right support, children are the ultimate play experts!
Rookies’ records the activity by taking photographs, using Facebook, having personal learning journals, an artwork display and scrapbooks.
Rookies wants families to:
* experience high quality care and support that is right for them.
* fully involved in all decisions about their care and support.
* have confidence in the people who support and care for me.
* have confidence in the organisation providing my care and support.
* experience a high quality environment.
Team Rookies support children’s learning by:
- Exposing them to new ideas
- Providing lots of opportunities for play
- Planning a wide range of sensory experiences
- Ensuring a loving and supportive atmosphere
- Making available materials and ideas to feed the imagination
- Giving them time and space – sometimes it’s best to stand back and watch quietly
- Providing appropriate challenges that allow exploration and learning
- Being an enthusiastic role model
- Being unstinting in our praise for their achievements.
